Dainen's practice is focused on real estate and estate planning. He has broad experience over the last two decades with a variety of areas of the law, including appeals, bankruptcy, collections, common interest communities (condominium and homeowner associations), consumer protection, debtor-creditor, housing, foreclosure and foreclosure prevention, probate and trust, real estate, and tax matters. Dainen's goal is to help educate clients about their options and to be a trusted advisor, helping clients move forward in the face of uncertainty.
Dainen is an experienced organizational and community leader and has held numerous local, state, and national leadership positions, most recently as the Northwest Regional Governor for NAPABA (National Asian Pacific American Bar Association). He is a past President of the Asian Bar Association of Washington (ABAW), the Washington State Bar Association Young Lawyers Division (WYLD), and the LGBTQ+ Bar Association of Washington (QLaw Association). Dainen is a prolific writer and speaker and contributes regularly to legal, industry, and community groups.
Dainen's professional excellence was recognized by Washington Super Lawyers Magazine which selected him as a "Rising Star" consecutively from 2010-2016, a selective honor reserved for the top 2.5% of Washington lawyers under 40. He is rated 10.0 by Avvo.
Dainen holds a Juris Doctor from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College (now known as Lewis and Clark Law School), where he received a Certificate in Federal Tax Law. He received an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Washington School of Law, where he focused on corporate tax minimization and wealth preservation. Dainen holds a B.A. from Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington, receiving a dual major in International Studies and French (departmental honors in French). He was an exchange student at the Université de Provence Aix-Marseille 1 in Aix-en-Provence, France, participating in an immersion program for non-native French speakers, while also completing coursework in European economic history.
Dainen was raised in Longview, Washington and has lived and worked in Seattle, Spokane, and Yakima. He considers Southwest Washington his home, and returned to the Portland/Vancouver area in 2022 to be closer to family. In his free time, Dainen enjoys traveling, hiking, kayaking, and backcountry camping.
